Thailand International Postgraduate Programme (TIPP)

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Immigration is delighted to announce a Scholarship opportunity for Kiribati students who wishes to apply for a Master Degree/Diploma Certificate under the Thailand International Postgraduate Programme (TIPP). Applications must be submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kiribati no later than 29th March 2019 during working hours (before 4:15pm).

Scholarship opportunity to the people of Kiribati for Master’s degree or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

Applications are invited for suitably qualified Pacific Island Country nationals for Graduate Scholarships to undertake a Master’s Degree or a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) by research only at the University of the South Pacific (USP).

Eight awards are tenable from mid-2019. The research will involve fieldwork and data analysis related to fisheries or sustainable marine development in the target beneficiary countries. The countries are: Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Timor Leste, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.

Visit of the Right Honourable Deputy Prime Minister of NZ and Minister of Foreign Affairs

Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters and delegation were warmly welcomed this morning by the Honourable Ioteba Redfern, Minister of Employment and Human Resources at the Kiribati Institute of Technology Betio Campus. Rt. Honourable Winston Peters also
announced further partnership to support the development of KIT.

Yogyakarta Scholarship

The Embassy of Indonesia offers a Scholarship to Kiribati student who wishes to apply for an Undergraduate, Master and Doctoral Program Scholarship at the Yogyakarta Muhammadiya University. Application should be completed no later than April 30, 2019.

Darmasiswa Scholarship 2019

The Government of the Republic of Indonesia is offering the 2019 Darmasiswa Indonesian Scholarship program to interested and eligible nominees from Kiribati.

The 2019 Darmasiswa Scholarhip program commencement will be from August 2019 – September 2019. Selection of awardees will be conducted from March 2019 – April 2019 and announced as early as May 2019.

Climate Change Fellowship Programme

The Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS) is pleased to announce the sixth year of the AOSIS Climate Change Fellowship Programme to bring young professionals from AOSIS countries to New York for a year of training on relevant issues of law, policy, and science to build the capacity to engage on climate change issues.

Please note that application deadline is 7 December 2018 and should be submitted to Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Immigration for endorsement.

Vacancy Advertisement (SIS Officer)

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration invites applications for the Smaller Island States Officer Post (SIS Officer). The position is funded by the Pacific Island Forum Secretariat and will be based in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration in Kiribati.

Position Qualification Requirement is:

  • Bachelor Degree in either International relations, Economics; Development or Public Administration and Management.
  • 5 or more years of professional experience in government or relevant organization.
  • An excellent understanding of Smaller Island States development priorities and issues.

Applications must be lodged at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration no later than Friday 16th November 2018. Details of the post can be obtained at our office in Bairiki.
